The ABC Association of School Librarians Conference in Columbia, SC, on March 5-7, 2022, is something I'd want to attend. The ABC Association of School Librarians is the state's sole organisation dedicated to school librarians' concerns. 

This is the only conference in our state that focuses on professional development for school librarians. "Read, Imagine, Create @ Your School Library!" is this year's conference theme.

The conference is intended to provide attendees with a greater knowledge of how the school library programme and the school librarian play an important role in student learning and accomplishment by encouraging students to read, absorb information, imagine, and create.

Attending will also provide me the opportunity to network with a wide range of school librarians, administrators, educators, and authors.

Registration fees include the following:

• Keynote speaker: Gina Seymour, author and national speaker who was recognised a "Change Agent" in Library Journal's Movers & Shakers (2017) list and is the author of Makers with a Cause: Creative Service Projects for Library Youth 

• Keynote speaker: Tamara Cox, SC Librarian of the Year 

• Keynote speaker: David Biedrzycki, national award-winning children's author (AASL)

• Special guest: John Schu, who is the Ambassador of School Libraries for Scholastic Book Fairs and is one of the contributors to The Creativity Project: An Awesomeatastic Story Collection.

• Concurrent workshops on a range of themes delivered by SC school librarians and national education professionals 

• Thursday evening Networking Reception with attendees and special guests

My presence at the SCASL Conference is critical to my job because it allows me to advance professionally, build better relationships, and gain information.
