3 Samples Re-employment Letter (Re-joining Letter)

Have you recently started a new job and are already regretting leaving your previous one? Have you been laid off, demoted, or fired from your job?

It's possible that you won't be able to obtain your former job back, but it never hurts to ask. You have nothing to lose by politely requesting to be hired again.

Make sure you're serious about returning to the organisation. After all, you left for a cause. If you're merely returning because it's the simplest choice, consider twice before writing or emailing to request your job back.

Keep in mind that if you were rehired, you would very certainly have to start anew as a new employee.

It's possible that your pay and benefits package isn't comparable to what you were earning previously.

What Should a Reemployment Request Letter Contain?

Remind your employer of your job title and the department you worked in. You might also say how long you've been there. If you've been there for a while, this will serve as a reminder of your commitment to the firm.

Begin by sending a message to your previous boss. You may need to speak with HR or top management as well, but your former employer is an excellent place to start.

You must persuade your old boss that rehiring you is a good business decision. Tell them why you're the best candidate for the position.

Remind them of any major accomplishments you had at work (for example, if you helped the organisation save money).

Mention any new abilities you've acquired since leaving your previous work.

Be succinct

In this letter, don't go into extensive depth. You can explain why you're leaving your new job, but keep it brief and focused on why you think you should go back to your previous one.

If your previous supervisor thinks you're a good fit for the job, you'll probably meet with him or her in person.

Prepare to answer further questions about why you left your previous employment and why you want this job back at that meeting.

Inquire about more possibilities.

Your position may have already been filled. As a result, express your willingness to examine other available roles within the organisation. Being adaptable might help you land a job.

Dear (Name),

I recently began a new work at ABC Company, as you are aware. However, I've discovered that the job responsibilities and working atmosphere are not what I anticipated.
